Krokanti Games joins DEV as an associate member
We are part of DEV now
On 23 September, DEV announced that Krokanti Games had joined as an associate member. You can read it on their own site, in the welcome note.
Put like that it sounds like paperwork. To us it is not.
DEV, Desarrollo Español de Videojuegos
What DEV is
DEV (Desarrollo Español de Videojuegos) is the association that represents the video game industry in Spain: studios, professionals and companies working together on the things none of them can do alone.
They describe themselves as "the biggest showcase abroad of the Spanish video game industry". That is exactly the part that interests us: a small studio, with a game still in development, getting a seat at tables you only reach as a group.
Why it matters to us
When you start a studio, you spend the first year convinced you are on your own. And in a way you are: nobody is going to make your game for you.
But the Spanish games industry is not a pile of studios competing with each other. It is a sector that defends itself together, negotiates together and represents itself together. Being inside means being counted in the sector's numbers, having access to what is going on, and being able to contribute our share, even if our share is still small.
It also means something harder to measure: the association that represents your country's industry recognising you as one of its own. After a year of building, that lands.
How we got here
We are a studio founded in September 2025. A team of four people plus several external collaborators. In twelve months we have been through Valencia Game City, the Hexagon Cup, the Mad Games Show, the Padel World Summit and OWN Valencia, we were certified as an Emerging Company, and above all we became a company that pays for itself.
And all the while, building Padel Rivals: a competitive arcade padel game for PC and consoles, with which we want to bring the sport into video games and find our place both in the entertainment industry and in padel's growing international ecosystem.
What comes next
The Padel Rivals Playtest has been open on Steam since 1 September, approving in waves, and we keep updating it with what players tell us. The next big milestone is early access.
Joining DEV does not change the game we are making. But it changes the place we are making it from.
