Frequently asked questions
The things people ask us before starting a project.
What is an advergame?
- An advergame is a video game made to promote a brand, a product or a campaign. Instead of interrupting someone with an ad, it invites them to play, so the brand becomes the experience rather than a banner on top of it.
What is the difference between a serious game and gamification?
- A serious game is a complete game whose main goal is to teach, train or raise awareness. Gamification does not build a game at all: it adds game mechanics such as progress, challenges and rewards to a product, an app or a process that already exists.
How much does it cost to develop a custom game?
- It depends entirely on scope. A browser advergame for a campaign is not the same as a game with online multiplayer or a console release. After the briefing we send a closed budget, so you know the final figure before development starts.
How long does a project take?
- Again, it depends on scope: a small advergame can be ready in weeks, while a project with multiplayer or several platforms takes months. We agree a timeline with the quote and we get a playable prototype in your hands early.
Which platforms do you develop for?
- We work in Unity, so we cover web, mobile on Android and iOS, PC and, depending on the project, consoles. We also build installations for stands and live events.
Do you work with agencies and other studios?
- Yes. We work directly with brands and institutions, and also as the development team behind an agency or as external reinforcement for another studio's project.
